De Panne lies at the westbelgian coast next to the French border. It is a well-known, maintained bathing resort with a broad, sandy beach. On the long and broad promenade there are many child attractions and speciality restaurants as well as purchase possibilities of all kinds.
De Panne offers all kinds of sports - characteristically is the sail car haven -, e.g. tennis, riding, mini gulf etc.. Indoor and open-air swimming pools are nearby. The dunes around De Panne make migrations possible for hours. The largest nature reservation "Westhoek" begins on the opposite side of the housing estate, in which our Holiday home is located. Through the nature park (360 hectars) there are several footpaths up to 700 m the broad and sandy beach (approx. 25 minutes).
With the car it is few minutes to the beach. Many historical places and cities can be reached comfortably by wheel or car: Bruegge: 50 km, Gent: 80 km, Brussels: 154 km, Oostende: 27 km (Connection Dover London), Veurne: 10 km, Duenkirchen (France): l5 km, canal tunnel: 45 km, Paris: 280 km.
